Published by Public Citizen's Health Research Group these 4 volumes list the names of doctors nationwide who have been disciplined by state medical boards and federal agencies. Specific details on the types of offenses committed are provided in some, but not all cases. The five most serious offenses listed in these volumes are criminal conviction, misprescribing or over prescribing drugs, sexual abuse or sexual misconduct with a patient, substance abuse, and substandard care, incompetence, or negligence. While this source is designed to assist consumers in making better informed health care choices remember that errors and incomplete information can occur. Health Vertical File

Alt-HealthWatch (1978 -- )
A full-text resource of articles taken from many health publications, journals, newsletters, general magazines or newspapers that focus on complementary, alternative and integrated approaches to health care and wellness. By clicking on the publication logo at the top of each article one can learn more about a particular publication (address, phone, editorial slant, and type of publication). Many access points are available with the click of a mouse and a few keystrokes, and all articles can be printed or saved to a disc.


American Medical Association Family Medical Guide
An easy-to-use CD version of the long respected print product which is organized by diseases and disorders, atlas of the body, symptoms and self-diagnosis, injuries and emergencies, diagnostic imaging techniques, and caring for the sick.

The full-text articles can be printed from the terminals.
