How Do Viruses Work?

Basically, a virus contains instructions for the computer which, when executed, do any number of bad things to the computer.

There are many types of viruses out there, and each one has its own set of instructions. These commands tell the computer to do abnormal things, such as rename files or to erase important information on your computer.

Once your computer has been modified by a virus, you might not be able to access your programs or data anymore. Your computer might become sluggish or nonresponsive.
