A. Mr. Berkowitz, President, opened the meeting at 5:00pm and led the pledge.
                        

B. Minutes

	Mr. Bell moved for adoption of the minutes as amended of the April 10, 2019 meeting.  Ms.
	Martini seconded.

C.    Visitor Comments/Staff Report

	No reports.


D.    Correspondence 

	A copy of any correspondence is sent to each Board member and is attached to the official
	minutes.

	Middletown Thrall Library sent a letter to a patron for their generous donation.


E.     President's Report  
	Mr. Berkowitz attended a discrimination & sexual harassment training mandated by the   
	state at RCLS.  Discussion followed.

	(A copy of the Director's Report sent to each Board member is attached to the official
	minutes.)
	 

G.    Financial Officer's Report

	A copy of the accounts and balances are attached to the official minutes.


H.   Committee Reports

	Mrs. Sciucco moved that the regular monthly disbursements for April, 2019 in the 
	amount of $106,067.16 having been audited by Richard Bell and found to be 
	correct, be approved.  Ms. Lange seconded.

	BUDGET AMENDMENT #1
	Mrs. Sciucco moved that the Board of Trustees of Middletown Thrall Public Library 
	amend the 2019 budget to be increased as follows:

	amend the 2019 budget to be increased as follows:

	Mrs. Sciucco moved that the Board of Trustees of Middletown Thrall Public Library 
	accepts the following budget transfer, to cover various shortages:

	L9010.8802.120000.0   Retirement				$12000.00

	FROM: L7410.8157.12.0000.6    Librarians Full-Time			$45000.00

	Building & Grounds: Cracks in the Library's foundation near the entrance have been 
	inspected by our exterminator and he has reported that there is no evidence of anything 
	living in that area.

	Our exterminator has informed us that there is evidence of possible termite activity in the 
	non-public Board of Trustees room along the Depot Street side of the building.  Mr. 
	Pfisterer is waiting to hear back from them regarding treatment options.


 H.   Committee Reports

	The contractor who installed our boilers came and turned off the heat pumps as we have 
	reached the end of our heating season.  He will contact another company who will advise 
	us on the use of the Nuro touch screen control system.

	We have received an engineering proposal for the next phase of our HVAC project.  The 
	building and grounds committee met with the contractor on April 12, 2019 to review the 
	proposal and discuss the boiler installation phase of the project.

	Mrs. Crown moved to go into executive session at 5:28pm for contract discussion.  Mrs. 
	Sciucco seconded.

	The Board returned from executive session at 6:12pm.
            

I.   Old Business 

	Mr. Pfisterer and Mrs. Sciucco met and discussed the Mokotoff donation.  Discussion 
	followed.

	Discussion was held on the RCLS Executive Director search.


J.   New Business   
	Discussion was held about the parking on the Union Street side of the library.


K.  Adjournment

	Ms. Lange moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:11pm.  Mrs. Sciucco seconded.
