A.	 Mr. Richard Bell, President, opened the meeting at 5:00pm and led the pledge. 


B.  Minutes
     Mr. Berkowitz moved for adoption of the minutes of the April 12, 2017 meeting.  Mrs. 
     Boyd seconded.  
		Ayes:  Bell, Berkowitz, Crown, Boyd, Lange, Martini, Sciucco - 7
		Noes:  None

C.    Visitor Comments/Staff Report
	   No report


D.    Correspondence 
	   A copy of all correspondence sent to each Board member is attached to the official
               minutes.

	Mr. Pfisterer reported that a letter was sent notifying Judy Isseks of the individuals who  
	   donated to the library in memory of Robert Isseks.

 
E.    President's Report  
	   Mr. Bell reported that he attended a budget meeting on May 10th and hopes to have a 
              budget for the next Board meeting.	
	 	

F.    Director's Report
	   (A copy of the Director's Report sent to each Board member is attached to the official minutes.)

	Mr. Pfisterer reported that the Garden Club asked if the library had space for them to keep  
	a file cabinet here for their meetings.  Discussion followed.

        Ms. Lange moved to go into executive session at 5:06pm to discuss employment history
        of a particular individual.  Mrs. Crown seconded.

G.    Financial Officer's Report
	    Mr. Pfisterer reported on the accounts and balances.
      

H.   Committee Reports
	Ms. Martini moved that the regular monthly disbursements for April, 2017 in the 
	amount of $132,459.87 having been audited by Rosa Boyd and found to be correct, be 
	approved.  Ms. Lange seconded.

		Noes:  None

	Building & Grounds: Ms. Lange reported on Building & Grounds.
	We have received our yearly fire inspection from the City of Middletown and there are
	no issues to report.

	Following the blizzard in April, a large pothole appeared in the access road near the 
	library entrance.  Mr. Pfisterer made a call to the DPW to report the issue.

	Al Fusco has set a schedule for the solicitation of bids for the boiler replacement project. 
	Mr. Pfisterer this to occur before the end of the month.

	The handicapped access automatic door opener has been out of order in recent days.  
	Parts have been ordered and a repair will be tempted but it may be necessary to replace 
	the motor on the unit.

	Our exterminator has reported that we are not currently experiencing any infestation 
	issues in the building.


I.   Old Business
	    Ms. Lange reported that the Bobbie Kay Memorial Event will take place Sunday, 
              June 11th, 2-3:30pm in the community room.  Discussion followed.


J.   New Business   
                Discussion was held on a Sexual Harassment Policy.

	    Discussion was held on legal representation for the Library District.

	    Mr. Pfisterer reported that to date we have received 47 memorial donations for Robert 
                Isseks.


L.  Adjournment
                Mr. Berkowitz moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:33pm.  Ms. Martini seconded.
