Minutes Mrs. Crown moved for adoption of the minutes of the June 9, 2021 meeting. Ms. Amelio seconded. Ayes: Bell, Berkowitz, Lange, Crown, Sciucco, Amelio – (6) Noes: None Motion declared approved. (7/14/21 – 32) C. Visitor Comments/Staff Report Con't. Tracy Barretta distributed the 2022 budget to the Board members. (See attached) Discussion was held on the 2022 budget. Mr. Berkowitz moved that the general Municipal Law Section 3-c expressly permits the Library Board to override the tax levy limit by a resolution approved by a vote of sixty percent of qualified board members; now therefore be it Resolved that the Board of Trustees of the Thrall Public Library District of Middletown and Wallkill vote and approve to exceed the tax limit for 2022 Budget for the Middletown Thrall Library. Bishop Smith seconded. Ayes: Bell, Berkowitz, Lange, Crown, Sciucco, Smith, Amelio – (7) Noes: None Motion declared approved. (7/14/21 – 33) Ms. Lange moved to accept the preliminary 2020 budget as given to the Board members. Mrs. Sciucco seconded. (7/14/21 – 34) Ms. Lange moved that the regular monthly disbursements for June, 2021 in the amount of $70,843.22 having been audited by Carl Berkowitz and found to be correct, be approved. (7/14/21 – 35) Ms. Lange moved that the Board of Trustees of Middletown Thrall Library amend the 2021 budget as follows: REDUCE Revenue L2082 $13,500.00 Library Fines/Fees REDUCE Appropriations: L7410.8524.12.0000.5 Subscriptions/Serials $13,500.00 Mrs. Sciucco seconded. Correspondence A copy of any correspondence is sent to each Board member and is attached to the official minutes. E. President's Report Mr. Bell discussed if the library could have a program on Adult 101 how to show high school students to do a check book. F. Director's Report (A copy of the Director's Report sent to each Board member is attached to the official minutes.) Discussion was held on sexual Harassment Policy Training. G. Financial Officer's Report Moved this report to Visitor/Staff Report. H. Committee Reports Building & Grounds: United was in to complete repairs to the Air Conditioning system as approved by the Board last month. There has been some improvement, but the building is still stuffy and warm. Mr. Pfisterer received a proposal to install more security camera's to cover blind spots in the building. The cost of the proposal will be approximately $6,000 and will bring us closer to our goal of having total building coverage. Our exterminators have notified us that we are not currently experiencing any insect infestation issues. Bishop Smith moved to approve Greylock up to $6,025.00 for installation services for camera's.
