Orange County Furnace. Middletown's first important industry. 1842, Center Street, then called Foundry Alley and later Foundry Street. It extended back to North Street and produced stoves, steam engines, railroad supplies, mill machinery, et cetera. Closed 1891. Building torn down by 1892. Photo is of the machine shop.
