Tips & Special Features:

There are three main search modes for this database: "Historical Records" is the default search mode. This mode lets you search census, birth, marriage, death, and other records.

Unless you click the "Exact matches only" box, the search may return results containing various spellings of the name of you are attempting to locate.

The Stories and Publications mode lets you search newspaper, historical stories, and other related documents.

The Photos & Maps search lets you search historical maps and other media at the website for any possible matches relating to the person you are interested in finding.

A "Search Tips" link is available in all three search modes, and it offers additional helpful advice for using this database.

At the top of the screen is a "Charts and Forms" button you can click to download an "Ancestor Chart" (in Adobe PDF format - see Technical notes below).

Technical Considerations:
Experiencing access/technical issues?
Please see the ACCESS OPTIONS section of this page.

Adobe PDF documents can be viewed at home if your computer has the free Adobe Reader software installed.

A special plugin (software available at the Ancestry Library Edition website when you access any document page) can be downloaded for more viewing options. The plugin is *not* required to view documents: you will see a "continue" link that will take you to a basic viewing page.

Due to the dimensions and quality of certain documents within the Ancestry database, printing clarity can vary and some pages might not fit entirely on one standard 8.5"x11" page (or, if they do, they might not be legible without a magnifying glass).

If attempting to print at the library, please note it costs $ .20 per printed page.

If you are unsure about printing, please inquire at the Reference Department for more assistance.

If you would like some assistance in using this database or finding any information, please speak with one of our librarians at the Reference Department or contact us:
