Advanced Concept: E-mail Filters

As you become more proficient with using your e-mail account and relocating messages to specific folders, you may take advantage of another feature available in most e-mail services called the e-mail filter.

E-mail filters allow you to define rules so that messages containing certain e-mail addresses or subject lines are automatically filed in folders that you have created.

For example, with the folder of FRIEND, we could define an e-mail filter to take any message from a person (e.g. mybestfriend@123.abc) and file it in your FRIEND folder. The next time you friend sends a message, it will appear in the FRIEND folder, not in your INBOX.
