BELOW: Masonic Square, later called Monument Square, Orchard St. at North St. The Wallkill Soldier's Monument was dedicated September 5, 1879. It was apparently designed by O.E. Owen of Middletown, although made in Vermont. The monument was moved to Thrall Park in 1894. At left is Orange County Trust Co, as it looked when completed in 1892. The architect was E.G.W. Dietrick of New York City who also designed Thrall Library. The addition made to the bank in 1923 was designed by David H. Canfield.
