UPPER PHOTO: The Middletown Hebrew Association was organized in 1916. After meeting at various places, funds were raised and the Synagogue and Community Center was built in 1925 on Linden Avenue. A 1938 photo of the Synagogue is shown. In 1962, the name was changed to Temple Sinai. ABOVE PHOTO: The present Temple Sinai on Highland Avenue was dedicated September 7, 1969. Architect was Milton Holtzman. (1981 plexo by Peter Laskaris). AT RIGHT: St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church was built on Linden Avenue on the concr of Franklin Street and was dedicated January 18, 1914. Frank J. Linsley was the architect.
