AT LEFT: Shown in an 1862 print is the mansion of John Amory, built about 1860 on Highland Avenue. In the early 1890's, it was purchased by Middletown industrialist George N, Clemson who hired architect Frank J. Lindsey to remodel the house. The results are shown below. The Clemson time was acquired by the YMCA in 1945. Sadly, it was demolished in 1975 to build a new addition to the "Y"
