AT LEFT: On the other corner of North Street and Low Avenue stood the Middletown Steam Lauxlry, originally started in 1887 on Academy Avenue, moving later to the North Street sicc. The photo was taken in 1929, shortly before it was torn down for Barney's (Barney Cohen) service station.
AT LEFT: Portion of the old tannery which stood on Fulton Street between Wawayanda Avenue and Mulberry Street. Photo was taken about 1888. The tannery was a descendent of Middletown's first industry, started 1805 or perhaps even earlier. The wooden portion of the factory was replaced by a brick structure which still stands on the site.
